Perforce Integration

The two-way integration between Perforce SCM and Soffront TrackWeb allows users to work in the application with which they are most comfortable. Developers can work entirely within Perforce without having to switch to the TrackWeb. This facilitates collaborative communication between Development and Quality Assurance teams leading to substantial productivity enhancement. 

Seamless Two-Way Synchronization
From TrackWeb, all the Perforce change list data and related files can be viewed for any TrackWeb defect. From within Perforce, TrackWeb defects can be seen as Perforce jobs.

A change made in one system is made available to the other seamlessly and even automatically on choice through background NT Services.

Define the relationship with Perforce Jobs
Define the relationship between a defect, the code that caused the defect, and the code that resolves the defect. TrackWeb defects are associated in Perforce as Jobs. The defect information is reflected throughout the job life cycle and carried right down to the job and change list history.

Capture Perforce Change Information for Defects
A complete history of Perforce data including change lists and file revisions can be captured in TrackWeb. The user can define the parameters to specify which fields to be captured from Perforce. This provides complete traceability between source code changes and defects.

Configure Workflow to match Your Processes
The integration supports a configurable workflow to follow your current process. Use Soffront’s flexible workflow model to create jobs and change lists automatically based on selected defect actions. Similarly map the Perforce job states to TrackWeb defect states to control the defect tracking workflow from within Perforce.
