In an independent review of five mid-market CRM solutions, Networking Computing Review found Soffront CRM more flexible than others. The Business Applications Lab of Network Computing Review tested Soffront, ACCPAC, Microsoft, FrontRange and Epicor, in this review. Here's a gist of what the review had to say on Soffront CRM:
"While ACCPAC and Microsoft offer some flexibility in positioning of fields, neither can compete with Soffront's completely configurable form design. If the system's administrator understands the company's business process, it should be easy to create forms that mirror that process. We did so and found that navigation of the browser-based client was superb. We were also pleased with the ability to access reports from specific areas. After defining areas for customer and product, we could create sub-menus for specific functions within each area, such as customized reports, screens and links to other areas."

Soffront CRM 8.0 provides for robust territory management and duplicate resolution for assigning leads automatically.
Define territory rules based on geography or product specialization. Define multiple rules based on your business scenario, on any of the fields that make sense for you. There is no need to force fit the assignment rules on a few select fields. Specify a default sales person, incase the set of rules cannot uniquely resolve a sales person. Determine duplicates based on the company name or email id or any other field. Duplicates can be determined based on exact match or partial match of values. Stipulate "noise" words (like 'Inc', 'Ltd') - the duplicate checking program will ignore these noise words when checking for duplicate values. Assign duplicate leads to the existing sales representative or to a sales manager. If your requirement is more complex, you may even specify a custom function for determining duplicates.
When a lead is assigned, the assigned sales person gets an email with a hyperlink to the lead record. An activity is also created and scheduled for the assigned sales person.

Answer:
The custom function should be written in VBScript in the NewProcessLead.asp file that runs at the server side as part of the Leads module.
You must be certified in Soffront object model, VB Scripting, and ASP to write such functions. Soffront Professional Services team can create the custom function for you. Please contact your Account Manager for more details.

Soffront CRM 8.0 supports the best practices support process management. If a critical ticket has remained in the same state in the workflow, send an automatic email notification to the manager. Update the status of the ticket and re-assign it automatically. Apply additional conditions like the support plan purchased (or expiry date etc), define the frequency at which to fire the rule and send email notifications to individuals or groups.
