MANU DAS, PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER OF SOFFRONT SOFTWARE, RECOGNIZED AS CRM LEADER BY CRM MAGAZINE

Fremont, California, May 27, 2004 --  Soffront Software, Inc. (www.soffront.com), a leading supplier of end-to-end CRM solutions specifically designed for the mid market, today announced that its president and founder, Manu Das, was selected by CRM Magazine (www.destinationcrm.com) as a CRM Leader and featured in their May 2004 article entitled “Who’s Who in CRM.”

Industry leaders from fourteen CRM suite vendors were profiled, including Manu Das, president and founder of Soffront. According to the author of the article, Emmy Favilla, “The one thing executives of these CRM suite vendors have in common is passion: passion for the industry, for excellence, for customers.” Favilla adds that the majority of these leaders have been involved with CRM since the term was coined.


Such is the case with Das, who created the first ever easy-to-use, truly customizable and adaptable customer and quality management software for the small-to-mid-size businesses (SMBs). Das introduced his CRM product to the SMB industry in 1992 – before the term CRM was even introduced. 

For the past 12 years, Soffront has focused on the SMB market – an area that has been largely ignored in respect to CRM software. Das feels that his greatest accomplishment in the industry is that Soffront Software provides SMBs with the same rich experience of customer interaction, retention, and loyalty as their larger counterparts.

"While other vendors like Siebel catered to the large businesses during the mid/late 90s, we focused on teaching SMBs that CRM was not a luxury. We painstakingly explained, educated and convinced SMBs that CRM was appropriate for every company -- no matter what their size." Das continued, "As an early innovator, we took a lot of heat selling this idea to SMBs. Our efforts opened up the SMB market to many other CRM vendors that came into existence more than five years after Soffront's introduction. I believe Soffront's contribution to the SMB CRM market parallels Siebel's contribution to CRM for the large business market."

Mr. Das has a long-term commitment and clear vision for the CRM industry. "I believe all businesses must be customer focused, and CRM should be the focal point of business. However, according to various studies, only 20% of the SMB market has adopted CRM. Thus, we have a long journey ahead of us. The vision I had 12 years ago has brought us much success, but we have more work ahead of us. In the next 10 years, I would like to see this 20% number (of SMBs using CRM) grow to be 80%."
